Pump Action was contacted by a block management company to assess a three-pump water booster set in an apartment block in Liverpool. The objective was to evaluate the system performance, reliability and overall condition.
We were initially contacted to investigate and carry out repairs to the existing equipment. However, upon inspection, it quickly became evident that the system had multiple underlying issues and a significant and potentially costly scope of works would be required to restore it to full and reliable functionality.
We reviewed the building’s layout and number of apartments to understand demand and used flow monitoring to assess system performance and usage. We also evaluated the existing equipment against current standards and selection criteria to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
We determined that the most practical and cost-effective long-term solution would be to replace the original equipment with a new four-pump variable speed booster set, each fitted with 5.5 kW motors rated to IE5 efficiency standards, ensuring improved performance, reliability and energy efficiency.
