Birmingham’s tallest residential tower experienced a major disruption when a system failure left residents without water for five days. Multiple repair attempts by previous contractors had failed, leaving the problem unresolved and requiring urgent support.
On day five of the system failure, Armstrong Fluid Technology was brought in, and Pump Action attended as their authorised service providers to investigate and restore the supply. Our engineering team attended the site to diagnose the issues, and two new pumps were delivered to site by 3 pm the following day.
The booster set was dismantled, rebuilt and tested on site, during which several further faults were uncovered. Our team rectified these hidden faults, including a blocked suction strainer and a further failed pump and inverter. Four distribution booster sets were found to be airlocked, and tanks were required to be refilled.
By midnight, water had been restored to all residents, and our engineering team remained on site until 2 am to ensure the systems were operating smoothly. The Pump Action team successfully restored water to Beetham Tower within 24 hours of being called out.
