Pump Action was contacted by the customer to provide a solution to prevent rainwater flooding in shop basements, following ongoing issues during periods of heavy rainfall that were impacting the operation of the premises.

Requirements:

During the initial site survey, it became evident that previously proposed packaged solutions were not suitable for this application. Due to the shop’s unique layout, restricted areas, and basement configuration, a more considered and tailored approach was required to effectively address the issue.

Approach:

A detailed site assessment was carried out to evaluate the existing pit and incoming drainage. Measurements were taken, discharge routes for the pump were identified, and discussions were held with the tenant to understand their operational needs and requirements ahead of the proposed works.

Outcome:

Pump Action designed, supplied, and installed an automated drainage pump system to manage continuous water ingress and maintain low water levels. The system incorporates duty/standby pumps, along with an additional emergency pump that activates at high water levels.
